Venous Duplex Ultrasound for DVT Evaluation
Mobile DVT Ultrasound for Nursing Homes and Clinics
A venous duplex ultrasound for deep vein thrombosis evaluates the deep venous system of the legs or arms using B-mode imaging, compression and colour Doppler to assess whether blood is moving normally through the veins.
How we perform this study at your facility
For skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centres, sending a resident out for a DVT study means transport, staff time and a long day away from the building. Our technologists bring the ultrasound system to the bedside instead, complete the study in the resident's room, and leave the facility with the images and worksheet for the interpreting physician.
Because we perform a complete bilateral or unilateral protocol rather than an abbreviated look, the study covers the full segments the ordering physician expects to see. Nothing is skipped for the sake of speed.
Studies are performed by RVT-certified technologists, and our vascular technologists trained through the Rush University vascular ultrasound program.
Interpretation remains with the physician responsible for the patient's care. Our role is to deliver a complete, well-documented examination at your location — it does not replace evaluation by the patient's physician.
