Ankle-brachial index and toe-brachial index testing are non-invasive physiologic studies that compare blood pressures in the ankles or toes against the arms to assess circulation to the lower limbs.
How we perform this study at your facility
ABI is one of the highest-volume, lowest-friction vascular studies a physician office can offer — but it still needs a technologist who performs it correctly and consistently. We bring the equipment and the credentialed technologist to your office, so the test happens in the room the patient is already sitting in.
TBI is added when ankle pressures are unreliable, for example in patients with heavily calcified vessels. Both are commonly ordered alongside arterial duplex imaging.
Findings are documented for interpretation by the patient's physician; we do not interpret or diagnose.
Interpretation remains with the physician responsible for the patient's care. Our role is to deliver a complete, well-documented examination at your location — it does not replace evaluation by the patient's physician.
