Carotid Artery Duplex Ultrasound
Mobile Carotid Duplex Ultrasound for Facilities
A carotid duplex examination images the common, internal and external carotid arteries and the vertebral arteries, combining greyscale imaging with colour Doppler and spectral velocity measurements to document plaque and narrowing.
How we perform this study at your facility
Carotid duplex is one of the most commonly requested vascular studies in cardiology and primary care, and one of the easiest to perform badly. We document velocities at every required level and image the full accessible length of the vessels rather than sampling a few windows.
For nursing homes and rehabilitation centres, performing the study in-house avoids the transport burden that often delays imaging for weeks.
Studies are performed by RVT-certified technologists trained through the Rush University vascular ultrasound program.
Interpretation remains with the physician responsible for the patient's care. Our role is to deliver a complete, well-documented examination at your location — it does not replace evaluation by the patient's physician.
